Review: ZAMIAN PREMIUM GOLD CACAO PACK (Warning: NOT suitable for chocolate addicts)

I am back this 2014! This is going to be my first review this year. ^^ 


Last year, I bought a lot of stuff from my favorite online shop, Han Ryu. I got so curious about Zamian Premium Gold Cacao Mask  so I decided to put it on my "should-try" list. The word "cacao" actually made me curious. Here's my review:


Product: Zamian Premium Gold Cacao Mask
It's a mask made from black cacao - yep! Cacao for me is equivalent to chocolate. (Hooray for chocolate lovers out there!)
  
Price: PhP 557 from Han Ryu (I think this one's on sale when I bought it. The original price from other online sellers would range from PhP 600-800.
(*Again, I am not paid to do reviews. I just buy most of my skin care products and Korean cosmetics from HAN RYU ever since I started falling in love with Korean skin care products.)

It's actually a facial mask + chocolate in one. If you love chocolates, I must warn you that this is not for you. Read along and you will know why. 




When I bought this product, it came with two HANDMADE soaps. 

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: 
This product has a lot to offer. I couldn't find the official Website of ZAMIAN but I found a good online store that has a complete and description of the product. (Credits to: http://iyoungdream.com/shop/product.php?id_product=15)


According to the website, ZAMIAN PREMIUM GOLD CACAO PACK:

Contains 99.9 gold powder,aloe extract, cacao powder, collagen which produce hydrating and whitening effect.Act as deep cleansing which can reduce pimple/acne, blackheads and tighten pore , eliminate appearance of line and wrinkles.

The PROMISES:

1) Shrink pores   

2) Restore skin elasticity  

3) Heal acne skin  

4) Brighten dull looking skin (whitening) 

 5) Heal acne skin  

6) Controls excessive oil formation 

7) Soothe and maintains PH level of skin   

8) Anti-ageing   

9) Moisture, repair & regenerate new skin.   

10) Suitable for all skin types especially acne, pimple, dull looking & stressful skin. This applies to all ages and gender

The INGREDIENTS: 

 I am not really familiar with the ingredients, so I am really sorry. :(
Please don't fret with the "PLEASE READ" sign. :) I haven't experience any STINGING or "heat effect" when I tried this product for the first time. 


Let me show you the actual packaging: 




This one is actually big. 150 grams? Not bad for a face mask. ZAMIAN PREMIUM GOLD CACAO PACK comes in a squeeze-type tube.

This is the only English description that you can see in the packaging. 

Back part of the box? No English translation for the Korean Description. 

What's inside?

This product is really not for 'chocolate addicts' because you will just end up eating this! 

CONSISTENCY and SCENT: 
Imagine this:
Get a huge block of TOBLERONE. Melt it under the sun for an hour. Get the melted TOBLERONE. Apply the melted TOBLERONE on your face.
(This is what I felt the moment I tried this.)

It has a thick consistency and it's a bit difficult to spread. It ALSO SMELLS LIKE REAL CHOCOLATE. 


If you will notice, there are "yellow, gold-colored" stuff in the mask. I think those are the "gold powder" 

How to use: 

And this is what ZAMIAN PREMIUM GOLD CACAO PACK looks like on my face: 

THE TEST: I started using ZAMIAN PREMIUM GOLD CACAO PACK last December 16, 2013. I applied the pack twice a week (but not religiously). 

1st use: NO VISIBLE CHANGES. 

I tried ZAMIAN PREMIUM GOLD CACAO PACK last December 16, 2013. It was my first time and  I was a bit hesitant to put more on my face. I felt like a toddler playing with melted chocolate. 

Here's a 'before and after' photo: 

I haven't seen any visible changes on my first try. I was a bit disappointed but of course, this is not a magic potion.....BUT! I was not totally disappointed because of the following reasons: 

* My face felt clean. I felt like my pores were squeaky clean!
* It was easy to rinse / wash off.
* Though  ZAMIAN PREMIUM GOLD CACAO PACK smelled like chocolate, once you wash off the pack, no traces of smell were left.
* No itchiness, redness, or sharp, stinging sensation. 
* And GOOD NEWS! I did not experience any break-outs the next day. :) 



2nd try: NO VISIBLE CHANGES but I GOT CLEANER PORES! (Happy!)
The pores on my face are visible from afar (seriously). I can't shrink my pores. If I only had powers to shrink stuff, I would shrink my pores first. But since I have no power over those nasty pores, I just make sure that my pores won't get clogged. 
I love how ZAMIAN PREMIUM GOLD CACAO PACK cleans those nasty pores. :) 

*No dryness felt on my second use. 


3rd try: CLEANER PORES + Less oily skin. 
I can now notice the changes.
*My skin was less oily and my pores were cleaner. 

I tried using the handmade soap (the yellow one) that came together with ZAMIAN PREMIUM GOLD CACAO PACK but unfortunately, it gave me a zit. :(
I do not recommend using the handmade soap. I suggest that you stick to whatever facial cleansers / wash / foam you are using. 


4th try: MOISTURIZED Skin + Less acne

* My skin was less oily. 
* No breakouts. Honestly, I noticed that the redness of my acne scars lessened.
* Less 'pre-menstrual' breakouts too! 
* My skin felt 'moisturized' the next morning after using the product at night.  ^^ 


5th try: I already love ZAMIAN PREMIUM GOLD CACAO PACK!




The CONCLUSION: 
I love this pack!
So far, this is the best facial pack that Iv'e ever tried. 

PROS: 
* Did not 'shrink' my pores BUT it kept my pores clean. :)
* My skin was less oily.
* I love the 'moisturizing' effect. 
* I did not experienced any breakouts. 
* My skin was brighter. :) 

CONS:
* I developed a zit (acne) when I used the soap. 
* Not readily available. Only available online. :(  Usually, most online shops do not carry this brand (ZAMIAN). 



I love this product. I would buy this again and I'll be including this in my must-have list. ^^
