Random Thoughts: Looking for a Job.

It has been a month and three weeks since I resigned from my work. One month and three weeks of not working and just staying at home. Sarap buhay (*big smile*).

I must admit that I am somehow quite enjoying it. I can sleep and get up whenever I want. I watch my favorite shows, read books, and surf the internet anytime. But most of the time I sleep (12-13 hours a day).
Well, I still do a some household chores but after doing them, I end up doing nothing. Sarap buhay talaga (*smile ulit*).

But after some time, I realized that things are getting a little boring here inside the house. Besides, when your bills start to pile up and you can't buy things you want (and need) anymore, you need to get a job, girl!

Job Hunting: Throwback four years ago.
The last time I looked for a job was four years ago. The first company that I went to was okay. I passed the exam, I did well on the initial interview and I amazingly impressed the Korean client. Easy! And everything was done in one day.

I was already scheduled for a training. The HR staff gave me a brief orientation about the salary, training, and other things about the company. The first thing he explained was the salary. The salary that the company was offering me was way too low for me. Like really low. Hindi sapat para sa pamasahe, baon, isang venti na kape sa Starbucks per month at share ko sa baon nang mga kapatid ko and gastos sa bahay. Sakit sa anit.

Inindyan ko yung training. I didn't attend nor did I give any messages that I am withdrawing my application. <---- Huwag tularan.

Before it's totally gone, I wanna do a quick review of Tony Moly Expert Radiance Primer

Product Name: Tony Moly Expert Radiance Primer
Content: 30 ml
Price: I got this from an online shop but I totally forgot how much is it. I got this from Han Ryu. :)

REVIEW: Silantro Fil-Mex Cantina

Yahoo! My husband and I went out on a date one Saturday to Silantro for some Mexican treats. It's our first time at Silantro. We just had a not-so-good meal at 8 Cuts Burger Blends so we were hoping to eat something good (I am so sorry but the burgers at 8 Cuts and my palate do not get along well).

It was Saturday so we were expecting there will be a lot of people so instead of going there on dinner time, we decided to go at around 4:00pm.

Random Thoughts: Week 2 - A Housewife's Diary

It has been two weeks since I left my job. Hindi ako sanay na walang trabaho. Since I was 20 years old, I have been working already and whenever I leave a company, I start working at another company the next day.

But not this time.

Now, I have been taking a rest from work for two weeks. Sampung araw na walang amo. I wake up whatever time I want. I sleep whenever I want.

I got married last October 2014 pero I never had a chance to stay at home and do housewife duties. Well this time, I am determined to do some housewife duties. :)

1. Laundry

http://www.weathertrends360.com/Blog/Post/18-Uses-for-Those-GINORMOUS-Potholes-794

I love to do the laundry IF the washing machine is fully automatic. Fully automatic meaning kapag nilagay mo yung labahan sa loob plus tubig at sabon, pag labas nang mga damit, tuyo na. Yun nga lang,  our washing machine is NOT automatic. Semi-automatic lang. Which means I still have to rinse the clothes after washing them with soap. After doing that, I have to rinse them all with fabric conditioner then hang them dry.
Doing this chore was really a difficult one. I only wash our everyday clothes, under garments and some clothes that needs to be hand-washed but for the rest, I let the experts handle them (special thanks to the laundry shop we have near our apartment).

2. Cooking

http://www.dumpaday.com/funny-pictures/random-funny-pictures-43-pics-5/attachment/10-i-hate-cooking-funny-quotes/

I love eating but I can't cook well. I can cook but my dishes do not taste that good. I can only cook a limited number of dishes. And when I say I can cook, it means cooking without relying on mixing powders or ready-made-sauces-for-ulam  you can buy in the supermarket.

- Adobo
- Sinigang
- Nilagang Baboy
- Spaghetti

That's it. I am just not passionate when it comes to cooking. My husband cooks better than me! Anyways, I still have to learn cooking or else my husband will end up having kidney stones and high cholesterol levels from eating canned goods and fast food.

3. Cleaning

http://www.dumpaday.com/funny-pictures/funny-pictures-48-pics/attachment/cleaning-the-house-funny-quotes/

I haven't had a chance to do a general cleaning of our house ever since I got married (take note: 8 months na akong kasal). I am so dead tired every Saturday and Sunday. During holidays, I take a rest and sleep for 12 - 14 hours. Call me lazy but my job's really giving me stress that I have to sleep whenever I have time.

So when I did some cleaning, I saw amazing and gross stuff. I also realized that our ceiling already had cobwebs (the ceiling looked like a ceiling from a haunted house).

This is just my problem. After cleaning the house, everything turns upside down again after a week or two. *Jeez!

4. Teaching

Since I am not doing anything, I volunteered to teach my beloved nephew. I teach him how to read and write some things but my favorite part - playing with him after all those studying. I guess this was the easiest job ever - to teach kids. I love teaching kids. I thank God for giving me patience when it comes to kids. :)

Honestly, being a housewife is a not-so-easy job (how much more if I have kids on my own). I really have high respect for housewives or stay-home moms (and stay-home dads). No amount of money could pay their dedication on making a house a home.

I believe that being a housewife is a job itself. Housewife LANG ako - This statement is a big NO-NO.

I do see myself being a housewife soon. It's one of the job that I am looking forward to in 3-4 years. I want to learn how to cook, do craftwork, and take care of my kids and husband. I do see myself staying at home. :)

REVIEW: COLOUR COLLECTION LIPSTICKS: HIGH DEFINITION AND MOISTURE INTENSE

A month ago, I realized that I didn't have any red lipstick. I was so in love with other lipstick shades that I forgot I didn't have any red lipstick anymore. I think a red lipstick is a must-have in every girl's makeup kit.

The mom of my dear office-mate is an Avon and Tupperware dealer. We get huge discounts whenever we buy something from her. So when my office-mate told me that some lipsticks were on sale, I knew I had to buy some red lipstick. I saw the brochure and I decided to buy 3 shades of red lippies! (that's why my husband tells me I am an impulsive buyer)

1. Colour Collection High Definition Lipstick - Cinnamon Red
2. Colour Collection High Definition Lipstick - Raspberry Red
3. Colour Collection Moisture Intense Lipstick - Rouge Red

Yes! All red. (I could already hear my husband telling me 'Ang dami mo nanamang lipstick, ano yan sabay sabay mong gagamitin?')  :)

Aside from office work, I also teach Koreans though video. I have to somehow look good on the video and usually, a good shade of lipstick would do the trick that's why I decided to buy Colour Collection High Definition Lipstick in Cinnamon Red and Raspberry Red. Unfortunately, I am not blessed with plump and awesome lips. My lips dry a lot too. So I also decided to got Colour Collection Moisture Intense Lipstick in Rouge Red.

Price: Originally sold for PhP 399 each but since it was on sale, I got them for PhP 199 each.

These are the lipstick that I bought

REVIEW: Mizon All in One Snail Repair Cream

Aside from Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream, another must-have Korean product that I have (should always have) is Mizon All in One Snail Repair Cream. I have been using this amazing product for more than 1 year already and all I can say is that it is definitely a must-have

I should have done this review a year ago but I was busy then. :( Well better late than never!

Two months ago, I finished a jar of Mizon All in One Snail Repair Cream. I had other moisturizers, creams, and serums to try so I din't bother buying another one.
After a week or two, I started to develop these nasty zits/pimples. I am already 28 years old I should have graduated from these pimples but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I felt like I was in highschool once again.

I also had pimples on my forehead but the ones near my chin and neck are just bad. Whenever I have pimples like this, I use Etude House AC Clinic Daily Toner and Gel Lotion (click the name to view my review on the product). Unfortunately, Etude House AC Clinic Daily Toner and Gel Lotion comes in big bottles only. It will be a waste of money if I buy them then won't be able to use them after my pimples disappear.

Then I had to purchase Mizon All in One Snail Repair Cream ASAP.

Random Thoughts: Talking to Manong Taxi Driver about life.

Sosyal people call it 'cab'. Most call it 'taxi'. My dad calls it 'tak-shee' (love you 'pa).

I rarely ride a taxi. I am so afraid of taxi drivers who get angry and hit their steering wheels whenever it's traffic.
I am afraid of taxi drivers who asks "San mo gusto dumaan? Gusto mo dito na lang para mabilis at hindi traffic.
I am afraid of taxi drivers who tells me "Ma'am, dagdagan niyo na lang kasi ang traffic at ang layo nang lugar niyo eh."
I am afraid of taxi drivers who do not smile.
I am afraid of taxi drivers who swears.
I am afraid of taxi drivers because there are news about them drugging their passengers then stealing their stuff or raping them.
I rarely ride a taxi dahil minsan, mas mainit pa sa loob nang taxi nila kesa sa labas. Sayang sa pera.

But I sometimes enjoy riding the taxi. Minsan. You can learn a lot of things from Manong Driver during a traffic jam.

These were some of the memorable conversation that I had with some taxi drivers:

REVIEW: CHARAPTOR - San Antonio Village, Makati

Last week, my husband and I decided to eat at Charaptor. We got so excited the moment we saw their Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/CharaptorBBQ).

My husband and I love eating, lalo na kapag EAT-ALL-YOU-CAN. The only eat-all-you-can buffets that we love are Sambokojin and Tong Yang. [We haven't tried Vikings and Niu by Vikings yet, but we will soon attack those places!]

What made us excited to eat there is that Charaptor boasts its eat-all-you-can, grill-your-own barbecue. My husband told me that charcoal grilled food tastes better than the food cooked on a smokeless grill. Honestly, hindi ko alam na may pinag-kaiba pala.

We decided to go to the Charaptor branch in San Antonio Village, Makati. The problem was we didn't know how to commute from our place to San Antonio Village. Mall of Asia is not an option for us because it's quite far!

http://www.clker.com/clipart-confused-panda.html

Fortunately, we were able to to find a way how to get there. The exact address of Charaptor in Makati is 9752 Kamagong Corner Aranga Street, San Antonio, Makati City.

So here's what we did:
1. From our place, we rode an FX going to AYALA.
2. We got off at Ayala Avenue and asked a traffic enforcer how to get to Gil Puyat Intersection. He told us to ride a jeepney. I was so glad that the jeepney driver was very accommodating and he dropped us at Kamagong Street
3. Kamagong Street is a one-way street. There were tricycle drivers in the area but we decided to walk instead thinking Charaptor was very, very near.
4. Lucky us, we walked for 10-15 minutes (I guess) looking for Aranga Street.
5. After a few minutes of walking, we finally got to Charaptor.

It was 4:45pm when we got there and I was expecting to be seated right away but to my surprise, we had to wait before they open at 5pm. I didn't know that they serve dinner at 5pm!

Amazing.

So we waited.

While waiting, I was able to take some photos from the outside.

Feeling ko nasa kulungan ako.

They were just fixing the place when we arrived. I could see the buffet table from where I was standing. My first thought was that it was too small for an eat-all-you-can buffet.

At around 5:15, we already got out seats. It was a bit hot and humid that afternoon. Mas okay sana kung gabi kami pumunta, mas malamig nang konti. There were only 5 tables occupied that time.

There are seats upstairs which is good for large groups.

And there are seats outside too.

My husband attacked the buffet table to check out the things that we would be grilling. Note to myself: Never go to a non-aircon restaurant, lalo kung ihawan, when the temperature's hot and the weather's humid.

Random Thoughts: Leaving the job you hate yet love so much.

In two weeks, I will be unemployed, literally walang trabaho.  I've spent three years working in this company - staying up late for work, getting stressed, and at the same time having fun.

I didn't intend to work for this company. I remember applying to the company just across our office. Sa kabilang office ako nagbigay nang resume.  I even took the test, was interviewed and already scheduled for a training. But I guess God finds a way to let you be in a place where He wants you to be.

I had a rough start working with the company. No one talked to me and I was on my own. Some of my co-workers didn't like me. Feeling ko hindi ako tatagal.

I was just an ordinary employee when my boss decided to give me a position. Though I had no idea what to do, I agreed. "Sige na, kahit hindi ko kaya. Pang-resume din yan."

Few months passed and my work started to pile up. Masakit sa anit! Totoo nga ang sabi ni Uncle Ben sa Spiderman, "with great power. comes great responsibility". Not just great responsibilities pero may kasama ring sleepless nights, endless overtime, erratic schedules and more.

Minsan, kahit sa panaginip ko kausap ko ang boss ko. May meeting daw kami.

I dreaded Sundays too. I hated the fact that I’ll be at work the next day. Every Monday, I pray that it’ll be Friday the next day.

Palagi akong pagod. Mag-lo-log-in pa lang ako sa aming makalumang bundy clock, pagod na ako. Kalbaryo na sa akin ang maghintay nang FX pauwi dahil sa sobrang pagod. I would rather sleep the whole weekend than go out. Because I am tired. Really tired.

But there are so many things I am thankful for.
I have learned to be patient - a characteristic that I lack especially kapag mahaba ang pila sa banko, sa cashier at sa CR sa Megamall

I have learned how to listen to people and how to be sensitive to their feelings. I used to be one-sided with my opinions but working in this company made me realize the importance of listening and being sensitive.

I have learned that sometimes, you have to respect the people in authority kahit feeling mo mali sila at tama ka. They may be wrong but kahit paikot-ikotin ang mundo, boss mo pa rin sila

I have learned how to negotiate. Minsan, kelangan talaga makipag-compromise. Eto pala yung palagi kong naririnig sa TV na 'let's meet half-way'.

I have learned how to conceal my feelings in front of other people. Being transparent doesn't always work. There are times that you have to set aside your feelings in order for you to think properly and do things correctly. Kahit bad trip ako, I have to smile because I want others to know that I am there for them. Kahit pagod ako, I have to help because I might be the only person who could help them. Kahit malungkot ako, I have stay positive so that everybody stays positive.

I have to learned how to multitask. Yung kumain nang dinner habang may paper work na tinatapos. Yung magmake-up habang sumasagot nang messages.

I have also learned to set aside the things that I want to do in exchange for more important things in life. Yung tipong isusubo mo na ang iyong dinner pero ibaba mo na lang ang kutsara dahil tinatawag ka nang boss mo sa office

I have learned so many things.
Maliban sa sweldo na kinikita ko, one of the things that made me stay was that I have met new friends. I started out working without someone to talk to during my breaktime. Okay lang sa akin 'yon. Besides, I am working because I need to earn, bonus na lang if I make friends. Pero I am so blessed to have crossed paths with people that I consider as friends, hindi lang as officemates.

I also enjoy the working with most of the people in our office.

Unfortunately, in two weeks' time, I'll be leaving this company. I submitted my resignation last March. Only a few people know about it.

How do geese know when to fly to the sun? Who tells them the seasons? How do we, humans know when it is time to move on? As with the migrant birds, so surely with us, there is a voice within if we only know how to listen to it, that tells us certainly when to go forth into the unknown - Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

Eto ngayon ang peg ko

Sometimes, there’s something inside that tells you that it’s enough. Hindi ko alam kung bakit pero I have this feeling that I have to move on.

I have to move on because I have to consider my husband now that I am married.
I have to move on because I have to take a break from all the stress.
I have to move on because there’s a voice inside me that tells me to do so.

Now that I have few days left to stay, why do I feel sad? Takot ako mawalan nang trabaho? Pwede. Mabigat sa loob kong iwan ang mga taong naging kaibigan mo sa kumpanya? Oo naman. Nalulungkot ako na iwan ang kinasanayan kong gawin araw araw? Oo.

I thought it will be easy for me to leave pero hindi pala.

Looking at the brighter side, I think leaving may be the best thing to do at the moment.

I don’t know what I will do on my first Monday na wala akong pasok. I have never been unemployed even for a single day from the time I’ve started working. I guess I will clean the house or watch or sleep. But for the first time, I will be having a stress-free Monday which I think all of us deserve.

REVIEW: KIMSTORE

Three weeks ago, my husband stepped on my tablet. My favorite Nexus 7 tablet. :( It was actually my fault that I because I left it on the floor.

I think he pitied on me and he felt really guilty (though it was my fault) so he decided to immediately buy me a new tablet! (*Happy me!*)

He bought his Samsung Note 3 from Kimstore so he told me to choose a tablet that I like (and within his budget) from their website.

For newbies in online shopping, Kimstore has been one of the trusted online gadget store for a long time. I first saw their online store through Multiply (Oh! I miss Multiply!). They already have a lot of customers back then and their feedback was really good.

Now, they have their own website: http://kimstore.com/

Then my husband decided to buy a phone from them and according to him, the transaction was A-OK. The phone's great and not a fake.

Well here's my experience buying from Kimstore:

REVIEW: Etude House Milk Talk Body Wash - Steam Milk and Apple

Hi! :)

Aside from BB Creams and lipsticks, I am also a sucker for body wash. Unfortunately, I think I haven't had any reviews for body wash in this blog. I just realized it when I was taking a shower last night.

I'll be doing a very quick review for my favorite body wash: Etude House Milk Talk Body Wash - Steam Milk and Apple.

I am trying to finish ALL the skin care products that I have for the next 6 months so I could buy new ones. ;]

Among my remaining stocks are Etude House Black Head Heating Deep Cleaning Gel and Etude House Black Head Pore Tightening Essence which I bought last year from an Etude House store. REVIEW: REVLON Colorburst Lipgloss - Sunset Peach, Hot Pink, Crystal Lilac, and Fire

I am not into lipgloss because I lips feel oily, sticky, and heavy on my lips. I have tried a lot of lip gloss and they felt like butter. But if they are given for free, well I would be glad to use them! :)

I got four shades of Revlon Coloburst Lipgloss from my mom and I'll be showing you the swatches.

REVIEW: PERIPERA Waterproof Pencil Gel Liner Kit

Though I have monolid eyes, I still adore eyeliners. Monolid means there is no prominent crease on my eyelids.

I have tons of eyeliners that I haven't used because my eyes do not have creases on its lids and next, my eyelids are too oily. The eyeliners would just smudge after an hour or two. Then I start to look like this:

or worst, this:

Well, okay I am exaggerating. ;)

Anyways, I still love eyeliners and let me share one of my loot: PERIPERA Waterproof Pencil Gel Liner Kit

The Product: PERIPERA Waterproof Pencil Gel Liner Kit

It's a 5-color waterproof eyeliner set from Peripera, a Korean brand.

DIY: Notepads

It's the Chinese New Year and I am stuck here at home since my husband is at work. I'm still happy though because I can have time to do some DIY (do-it-yourself) projects that I've been waiting to do. :)

Aside from BB creams, I love doing DIY projects. Actually, during my wedding, my bouquet and my bridesmaids' bouquets were all made from paper and were all made by me (*proud smile*)

Here are some photos of my DIY bouquet:

This was mine :)
I will be making a separate blog about this.

But for now, I will be blogging about my do-it-yourself NOTEPADS. When I found out how to make my own notepad, it saved me a lot of money but the best part is, I was able to save a lot of paper.

Here are the things I use in make the DIY notepads:

1. Used paper (I have a lot of those - all of them were from the office.)

2. Tongue depressor (I had those left over tongue depressor from my wedding. You can use any similar items such as ruler or Popsicle sticks.)
3. Huge Paper clips
4. Scissors (but I prefer using a cutter)
5. Padding glue

REVIEW: Nature Republic Green Tea Cleansing Cream

I'm back again :) I am so dying to do a lot of reviews for the products that I have (and currently using) but I just couldn't find time to do them :(
If you love putting on BB cream + concealer + foundation, washing your face with soap (or facial foam) and water is not enough to remove them all at the end of the  day. A good cleansing cream is really a must.

Here's my review review of -  Nature Republic Green Tea Cleansing Cream

The Product: Nature Republic Green Tea Cleansing Cream
-It's a cleansing cream from Nature Republic.

REVIEW: Etude House Color my Brows #5 Blondie Brown

I am such a newbie when it comes to fixing my eyebrows. I admire people who are so skilled at 'drawing' their own eyebrows. The only thing I could to is to color them :)

There was a time that I wanted to color my eyebrows using hair dye. Good thing I didn't or else I would look like Miley Cyrus when she bleached her eyebrows.

And this is NOT the kind of eyebrows that I want
http://www.fashionmagazine.com/beauty/2013/11/20/miley-cyrus-bleached-eyebrows/

I am so glad that browcara was invented. I was a bit amused with the term 'browcara' (there's a big smile on my face right now). I don't know where that word came from but this is what we put to color our eyebrows temporarily.

Here's my review of Etude House Color my Brows #5 Blondie Brown.

Product Name: Etude House Color my Brows
Shade: Comes in 5 shades - For this review, I have the #5 Blondie Brown
Price Tag: PhP 255 from my favorite online shop, Han Ryu. I am just not quite sure how much it is in Etude House shops.
