REVIEW: Silantro Fil-Mex Cantina

Yahoo! My husband and I went out on a date one Saturday to Silantro for some Mexican treats. It's our first time at Silantro. We just had a not-so-good meal at 8 Cuts Burger Blends so we were hoping to eat something good (I am so sorry but the burgers at 8 Cuts and my palate do not get along well).

It was Saturday so we were expecting there will be a lot of people so instead of going there on dinner time, we decided to go at around 4:00pm.

How to get there by public transportation: (I am so sorry because I am not good at giving instructions but I will do my best to give the instructions in detail ^^)

1. From Ortigas Ave. Extension, ride a jeepney going to CROSSING or JRC. Do not take the FX with the sign CROSSING Megamall because you will just end up in somewhere near Shangri-la and you will have to ride another jeepney going to Kapitolyo.

2. Tell the driver to drop you at Kapitol (or Kapitolyo).

3. From where the jeepney driver dropped you, cross the street. Your landmark would be the 'rotonda' and Petron Gas Station. Just beside Petron, go inside and you will find a tricycle terminal.

4. Ride a tricycle and tell them to drop you at Silantro (the tricycle drivers know exactly where the popular restaurants in Kapitolyo are located).

And finally, we arrived at Silantro. The restaurant was a little small but the place was packed with people (and it's only 4pm!).

There was an available table outside but it was a very hot and humid afternoon so we opted to wait to be seated inside.

While waiting, the waiter took our orders. I wasn't able to take photos because we there were already a lot of people eating (and I do not want to make them uncomfortable just because I was taking pictures ^^).

Anyways, here's the menu (photos from https://www.zomato.com/manila/silantro-fil-mex-kapitolyo-pasig-city)

After 15 minutes, we were already seated. :) Inside the restaurant, there were around 6 tables that can seat four people, and 2-3 tables that can seat two people.

The place was already full of people and there were people waiting inside for their to-go orders. It was hot outside so I was so happy that the place was cool though there were a lot of people inside.
I was a bit apprehensive to take photos because a lot of people were already eating.

This is the counter. As you can see, the people sitting on the right side were waiting for their to-go orders.

We ordered Silantro's Burrito, Silantro's Quesadillas, Beef Nachos, and burger ;)

The quesadilla's came first and I am just amazed by how big, thick and delicious it looks.

Then next is the burrito for my husband. The burrito was so fat! Sorry for the term but I think the word 'fat' is the most appropriate term to describe this burrito, not that it contains a lot of fat but the burrito is jam-packed with meat.

But I was more amazed when they served the tacos. The taco plate was full and the beef there were a lot of beef mixed with that melted cheese.

Then the burger! The burger was not oily, perfectly cooked (not undone and not overcooked) and everything tasted good.

Overall, the food was delicious (tastes better than Agave Mexican Cantina - the one in Eastwood). The servings were also big and the meals were all affordable. We will definitely come back to try some of the food listed in the menu.
