I wish I had a flawless face so I don't have to spend money on hiding my pimple scars, my pores, my uneven skintone and my dark circles under my eyes.
I guess that's the reason why I keep on searching for anything that will hide those imperfections.
Last 2010, I've discovered BB Creams and I fell in love with them. I've tried a lot and this is one brand that I will keep forever.
*********************************************************************************
Actually this is a late review. I was supposed to blog this a long time ago but because of so many reasons, I didn't.
I already made a review for MISSHA M Signature Real Complete BB Cream SPF 25 PA++. But before I fell in love with that, I fell in love to it's cheaper version, the Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream SPF 42 PA+++
THE PRODUCT:
-Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream SPF 42 PA+++
-It's a BB Cream.
-Comes in 5 shades (But shades #21 Light Beige and #23 Natural Beige works well for Asian skin.)
-I am using #23 Natural Beige.
-Comes in 2 sizes - 20ml and 50ml
-The product promises:
*Whitening
*Anti-Wrinkle
*UV Protection (SPF 42 PA+++)
According to it's website:
"The M Perfect Cover BB Cream gives an even and natural-looking coverage with the soothing, moisturising properties of a cream. It is suitable for all skin types including acne-prone skin, and can be used as a makeup base or foundation. "
-THE PRICE:
Missha Philippines: * PhP 700 - 20ml
* PhP 1,600 - 50ml
Online stores on ebay: *Price ranges from PhP 800-990
Han Ryu: PhP 800 - I think this was her discounted price. (how I love this shop!)
This is one of my first-favorite BB cream: Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream SPF 42 PA+++ (50ml) |
What it says |
- The tube comes with a pump. Unlike MISSHA M Signature Real Complete BB Cream, Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream comes in soft tube that will allow you to squeeze the remaining cream 'til the last drop (that's good news for cheapskates like me!)
Oh! by the way, it 20 ml tube does NOT have a pump.
Here's what inside the tube (again, pardon me for the camera and my hairy hand ^_^):
-You may notice that Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream has a cream-y consistency compared to Missha M Signature Real Complete BB Cream which has a water-y consistency.

The REAL TEST:
Ever since I was in highschool, I have been bothered by my pimples and honestly, those zits took away my self-esteem. When I was in college, my pimples were aggravated by endless late night sleeps, emotional and physical stress and unhealthy lifestyle. I was like a walking 'zombie zit'.
So when I started working, I did my best to cover them up until finally, I was able to overcome this pubescent horror. And I have learned how to embrace my imperfections :)
So when I started working, I did my best to cover them up until finally, I was able to overcome this pubescent horror. And I have learned how to embrace my imperfections :)
Well, here it goes!
This is the real test (and this is why I love BB creams)
Here are my close-up photos without anything on my face.
I have visible pores and pimple scars especially on the left side of my face |
Those pores! And I guess the lack of sleep and stress at work is already taking a toll on my face. |
Oh! And don't these two look the same? (LOL!)

The APPLICATION:
- Here's what I do (the application varies on the person using this product)
-I do my basic facial routine - wash my face with a facial wash then I apply my facial toner.
- If my face turns dry (which rarely happens), I apply a moisturizer first.
- I let the moisturizer dry before I apply Missha Perfect Cover.
- A pea-size amount is already enough to cover your face but if you want a more heavy coverage then you can add and blend.
THE 'AFTER-EFFECT'
-Here are my before - after photos:
I love the coverage of this BB Cream.
This is really my favorite part.
It also cleared my uneven skin tone.
Hmmm.. those nasty pimple scars on the left side of my face are really bugging me. So what I do is I apply three layers of BB cream. (click the photo to view the entire image)
And the Finale!
WHAT CAN I SAY?
- I totally love this.
- It does not oxidize on my skin.
- Though it does not entirely cover my pores, it does a great job in making them look small.
- It clears my uneven skintone.
- NO BREAKOUTS.
- Though it does not entirely cover my pimple scars, I think it made my pimple scars look 'tolerable'
- It is easy to apply.
- A little goes a long way (One 50ml tube can last for 4-6months if used 6 times a week.)
- Good for people with oily skin. I brush a thin (very thin) layer of foundation after 5 - 6 hours of putting on the BB cream to keep the oil at bay.
- The scent is not too overpowering. It has a normal, light powdery smell.
-This actually saves me from buying expensive mineral foundation.
- I love the whooping SPF42 ++++ (I still do not have any idea what the +++ means)
The CONS:
- NOTHING
- Oh! one thing, find a good make-up remover/cleanser whenever you use this. It's a bit kinda hard to remove the traces of Missha BB creams on your face.
I am still using this and this BB cream and I will really have a good relationship with it for a long time. :)
Great review!
ReplyDeleteI just got the perfect cover one and I am interested to see how it will work for me. Hopefully I can get the same results as you! :)
Hi!!! Thanks a lot! :) I hope you will love this too.. this is a great buy :)
ReplyDeleteHi, Miss Hazelle. I'm a big fan of Korean/Asian beauty products and this led me to get into selling them recently. I've been reading a lot of blogs about bb cream and other Korean/Asian skin care products as I would like to feature some on my page. I'm selling this product, so I've been reading reviews about this product. I must say yours is my favorite. What I most love about your blog is that it's so relatable, not too talky, has a lot of photos to illustrate your point, and has good humor too.
ReplyDeleteI've mentioned that I want to feature some blogs on Korean/Asian beauty products on my fb page. Can I feature yours? And if it is possible, can I share a couple of your photos?
Hi Ms. Peng! I am so sorry for replying late.. Of course you can.. no problem with sharing the photos but I really do hope you can include a photo credit....That would be highly appreciated :) Thanks a lot for appreciating my review. God bless to your business! :)
Deletehi sis!! :) Yeah! i love this product too and this is a must-have :) Thanks sis! :)
ReplyDeleteI would definitely give all the credit to you... Will post together with the photos a link to your blog. Bunch of thanks. I've bookmarked your blog. I'm looking forward to reading more stuff from you. God bless you more~
ReplyDeleteI have a yellowish skin tone.. which one would you recommend? According to http://laurasbeautyreviews.com/missha-bb-cream I think the natural beige is the one.. what do you think?
ReplyDeletehi! sorry for the late reply ;(
Deleteyup! Natural beige (#23) us suitable for a yellowish skin tone.
But if you are a bit tan, I suggest you go for the Honey Beige #27 which is suitable for yellow-golden undertones. :)
I love your review! It's amazing.. Thank you for posing this. Now I'm confused what to get, a mishha bb cream or étude house cc cream! Have your heard about the cc cream? If pls tell me!! Hehe thanks
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for the late reply :(
DeleteI have heard about CC cream and I heard that CC stands for Color Correcting. Compared to BB cream (Blemish Balm - which focuses more on removing / hiding blemishes), CC CREAMS focuses more on correcting skintones..
I will get mine this week.. I hope to post a review about it soon :) Thanks thanks!
The BB Cream did a good job minimizing your pores. I wonder how much it costs if it isn’t discounted. Hmmmn? Any idea?
ReplyDeletexo,
~Pauline @Kallony
thanks for reading my review :)
