REVIEW: Sulwhasoo First Care Serum

I was asking Ms. Grace (the owner of Han Ryu) last time about her thoughts on Snail Creams (another popular skin care trend in Korea these day) when she told me about the Korean brand SULWHASOO. I was already familiar with the brand because I got a free sample of a Sulwhasoo cream few years back.

Ms. Grace told me that she tried the sample of Sulwhasoo Serum and it worked for her. Today, I got a free sample of Sulwhasoo First Care Serum from her! Yehey!

Do you see it? :)

Here's the product description from the website

Formulated with Korean medicinal herbs, this essential regimen boosting serum assures optimal skin care results, promoting balance and replenishing essential moisture and nutrients.

- Membranous Milkvetch promotes natural skin circulation and Dwarf Lilyturf and Licorice boost synergy among herbal extracts to restore skin’s natural healthy radiance.

- Absorbing instantly and deep within the skin, this serum leaves the skin soft, smooth and supple, prepares skin to receive treatment and boosts the efficacy of skin care used throughout the regimen.

How to use: After facial wash in the morning and evening, pump 2~3 times onto palm and apply with fingertips. Gently wrap the face with hands to help absorption of the product..

The PRICE: I don't have any idea about the price of this product. I cannot find a shop in ebay.ph or Multiply that sells this serum in full size.

Size:  The full size is 6oml while the trial size that is 8ml.

This is the sample size. It's actually quite cute.

This is the back portion of the sample. The description is written in Korean.

It also comes in a container with a pump :)

SERUM vs. CREAM:
- In my opinion, serums are much better than creams. From what I had read before, serums  are easily absorbed by the skin. Also, the nutrients in the serum deeply penetrates into the skin because serums have smaller molecules compared to creams. But, if you are more comfortable with creams, no need to rush off to buy a serum.

THE APPLICATION:
-This is not my first time to use a serum but I am honestly more comfortable in using creams. But since I have heard a lot from this product, I'll be ditching my night cream for a while to try this.

- THE SCENT: If you are not fond of the anything that smells like herbs, I think this is not for you. This product has a not-to-strong herbal scent. I personally think that the smell is tolerable. DO NOT FRET if you are worried about the smell. Once you have applied the serum on your skin, the smell goes away.

- THE CONSISTENCY: Since this is a serum, it's a bit water-y or runny.

- I was kinda worried with the color since the color is similar to the tea I am drinking.

- It is easy to apply on your skin. But you have to spread it fast it dries fast too. I dunno if it dries fast because it really dries fast or it the serum is absorbed by the skin.

- I have a lot of dark spots on my skin and I still have problems with ZITS.
- My age is also catching up with me so I am also starting to see fine lines (OH NO!)

I will be giving my updates about this product. Lemme see if it's worth the expensive price :)

UPDATE:
- Today is September 19.
- This is my 3rd day of using this product. I have noticed that my pimples are getting smaller and less red. (I am amazed because I have my period this week. I would normally have around 2-3 zits whenever I have my period.)

My Verdict:
Good points:
1. It made my pimples small the redness subsided.
2. It made my dull skin look healthy.
3.  It somehow made my skin tone even.

I guess if I continued this regimen, I would also experience what others are raving out about this product. But the big problem is, this is way too expensive for a cheapskate like me. :/

Anyways, I am happy to experience the effect of this product. Will I buy this in full size? I am not quite sure since there are other skin care product that has the same effect but cheaper. :)
