REVIEW: Etude House Black Head Heating Deep Cleaning Gel and Etude House Black Head Pore Tightening Essence

I am trying to finish ALL the skin care products that I have for the next 6 months so I could buy new ones. ;]

Among my remaining stocks are Etude House Black Head Heating Deep Cleaning Gel and Etude House Black Head Pore Tightening Essence which I bought last year from an Etude House store. I was enticed to buy them together because first, they were on sale and second, the saleslady said these products are good for 'vanishing' blackheads. I got a lot of those blackheads so I decided to purchase them.

I have almost forgotten about them.

I'll be doing a review for these two products:

1. Etude House Black Head Deep Cleaning Gel
2. Etude House Black Head Pore Tightening Essence

Warning: LONG POST ahead with TONS of pictures. ^^

According the the lady at Etude House, after using  Etude House Black Head
Heating Deep Cleaning Gel, you can use Etude House Black Head Pore Tightening Essence to tighten up the pores (sounds great, eh?).

Etude House Black Head
Heating Deep Cleaning Gel

Size: 50ml

Price: Uhm. I am so sorry I forgot how much. :[ I tried checking their website but I couldn't find it.

Product Description

Scrub out blackheads after dissolving them with oil.

Main ingredient: Contains Morocco's Ghassoul Clay.

Studies that shown that Moroccan Rhassoul Clay reduces dryness, improves skin clarity and elasticity and has extractive abilities that remove impurities and unblock pores, even stubborn blackheads. http://www.amaloils.com/Moroccan-Rhassoul-Clay

Directions (got the directions straight from the box):

1. Apply a little amount on the nose after face wash.
2. Gently massage evenly on the forehead, nose, and neck area.
3. Wait for 1 minute while gel transforms into oil, then massage again.
4. Wash off with water to finish.

Good thing the back of the tube has English instructions on how to use the product. :)

Etude House Black Head Pore Tightening Essence

Size: 5ml

Price: Uhm. Sorry again. I forgot how much this costs in the Philippines. ;[

Product Description (got the description straight from the box):
Essence for nose to relieve and to give elasticity after taking out blackheads while tightening pores.

How to use (again, I got the description straight from the box):
1. Open the cap and turn the back to on, then press 1~2 times to get adequate amount on the tip.
2. Apply where pores are loosened after the blackheads are taken out.

These two stuff were meant to be bought together. Etude House Black Head Deep Cleaning Gel is for opening the pores and remove nasty blackheads, and Etude House Black Head Pore Tightening Essence is to 'close' or 'tighten' the pores.

Sounds like magic, eh?

And here they are....

Etude House Black Head Heating Deep Cleaning Gel

Scent: smells like lemon
Consistency: It was a bit difficult to squeeze the product out of the tube.Upon applying, it feels a little heavy and it's more of a thick 'clay-ish' cream that turns into oil after a few minutes. It also contains tiny 'beads'.

Here's the amazing thing, the 'heating' effect really works! The product feels warm on the skin and it lasts for around 30-40 seconds.

EWWWW! Yes, this how active my pores and oil glands are. I get a lot of blackheads because I have huge pores and an oily skin. My pores are all big and open. Anyways, I have learned to love my flaws ^.^

And this is what the Etude House Black Head Heating Deep Cleaning Gel looks like once it's applied on the skin. I let it stay on my face for 45 seconds to one minute before scrubbing  and massaging.

After waiting, scrubbing, massaging, waiting and washing - here's the result.

Not bad~
Although my blackheads were not totally removed, my pores were much cleaner. There were still traces of blackheads.

Second time trying the product - still looks the same. Not all of the blackheads and whiteheads were removed but my pores look cleaner. My skin also feels exfoliated :)

After using Etude House Black Head Heating Deep Cleaning Gel, that's when Etude House Black Head Pore Tightening Essence comes in.

Etude House Black Head Pore Tightening Essence

You have to turn it 'on' first by moving the bottom part to the right. Then press the tip for two or three times then the product will come out. Don't forget to turn it 'off' after using.

I can't exactly describe the scent but it doesn't smell too strong. The consistency is more like of a serum.

And my final thoughts about these two:
1. Etude House Black Head Heating Deep Cleaning Gel
*It's supposed to 'dissolve' blackheads. Yes, it did actually scrub some but now all. Some blackheads were still visible but you I have noticed that my pores looks clean.
*It's a good product to use to exfoliate / scrub your skin once or twice a week.
*I haven't experienced any breakouts/zits. :)

2. Etude House Black Head Pore Tightening Essence
*Sorry to say but this doesn't work at all. :(
After using for some time, no changes were noticed on my pores. Will NOT purchase this again. Ever.

The Etude House Black Head Heating Deep Cleaning Gel  somehow works but not 100% effective. Will I purchase it again? Not at this moment. I might find something better that will work on my blackheads. :]
