REVIEW: HOLIKA HOLIKA Pig-nose Clear Blackhead Cleansing Sugar Scrub

Oh! I can feel CHRISTMAS! It's already SEPTEMBER! (I live in the Philippines and here, Christmas Season do start in SEPTEMBER... ^_^ )

Here's my first review for this month - HOLIKA KOLIKA Pig-nose Clear Blackhead Cleansing Sugar Scrub

***********************************************

Aside from pimples, I also have a big problem with blackheads and whiteheads.
Argh!
I'm still jumping into different products and still looking for the one that can really really minimize or remove these nasty blackheads and whiteheads.

Last year, I bought Holika Holika PIG-NOSE CLEAR BLACKHEAD Deep Cleansing Oil Balm (click the name so you can check out my previous blog about this) and HOLIKA HOLIKA Pig-nose Clear Blackhead Cleansing Sugar Scrub from Han Ryu. I already made review with the former so I'll be doing a review for the latter. :) [my goodness! i did not understand what i just wrote! hahahahahaha!]

**********************************************

Name: HOLIKA HOLIKA Pig-nose Clear Blackhead Cleansing Sugar Scrub
This is from Holika Holika, a South Korean brand.
It's a "nose scrub", meant to remove those nasty black heads.

Content: 30ml

PRICE: I got this on sale from HanRyu:  PhP254

Product Description:
Got this from Koreadepart website

Ingredients: sugar, pink clay, lemon extract, Aloe Vera Gel

Product Description
: Mineral and Vitamin helps effectively remove the dead skin cells: Sugar scrub keeps the skin smooth and removes black head and dead skin cells: Protective and soothing: Wash off scrub Type

How to use: Apply to blackhead area after washing, and roll as you massage: Massage with water to reduce possible irritation to skin and wash off with tepid water in 10-15 minutes* Use once or twice a week

This is what it looks like. It comes in a pink, plastic jar.

Until now, I still do not know why Holika Holika called this 'Pig-nose'

Whenever I buy Korean products, as much as possible I try to check if the instructions on how to use and the ingredients are translated in English.
Most of the Korean products that I've purchased (like this one) do not have an English translation. :( It's a bit important to me because at least I have an idea on what I am putting on my skin.

There's a sign that says: OPEN HERE.....

.... and when you open the label, this is what you will see. No idea what it says. :(

Now let's take a look at HOLIKA HOLIKA Pig-nose Clear Blackhead Cleansing Sugar Scrub.

Scent: Smells like lemon! (but not too strong)

And it definitely has SUGAR. Lots of sugar.

yeah.. it has BIG GRANULES of sugar. Literally.

If you have seen my review on Holika Holika PIG-NOSE CLEAR BLACKHEAD Deep Cleansing Oil Balm, you have probably seen my huge nose + my huge pores.. hahaha!
You will be seeing them again in this review :)

And this is my nose + HOLIKA HOLIKA Pig-nose Clear Blackhead Cleansing Sugar Scrub.

I am going to be damn honest with your guys, this one hurts! (*o*)!
The sugar granules are quite big and it doesn't dissolve quickly (actually I dunno if it dissolves at all!).

And here's the BEFORE - AFTER PHOTO

Well, I somehow see the a little (itsy-bitsy) difference before and after using  HOLIKA HOLIKA Pig-nose Clear Blackhead Cleansing Sugar Scrub

Here's my take on this product:
1. Scent - not bad. Not too strong for those who are sensitive to odors.
2. The Application - Whoa! It was a bit painful even if I was scrubbing it gently on my nose.  The sugar granules takes a long time to dissolve (and I don't know if the sugar dissolves at all.)
3. The Effect: For the first try, not bad. My nose felt clean and I saw some difference before and after using the product. Some of the blackheads were gone but if I will take a good look at it, there are still some left. :(
(*I know, Hazelle, it's not going to do magic that fast.)

Another thing, no breakouts experienced. No zits and that's good news :)

I'll be updating you guys about this once I start using this regularly :)

UPDATE:
December 16, 2013.

Except for the LARGE sugar granules, I totally love this product.

I'll make it quick -
*Did it totally remove your blackheads/whiteheads? With REGULAR USE (regular meaning 3x a week), it did remove 90% of my blackheads and whiteheads.

*Did you have breakouts/zits/acne during the time you were using HOLIKA HOLIKA Pig-nose Clear Blackhead Cleansing Sugar Scrub? NO. I did have some breakouts but I am pretty sure it's not because if the product.

*How about the LARGE sugar granules? What I do is I let the product stay on my skin for a few minutes to allow the sugar to melt a bit. Then after a few minutes (like 1-2 minutes), that's the time I scrub.

*Will you buy this again? It's effective but I would love to try other products ^^

  4. Did you use this at the same time as the pig nose oil balm? I'm thinking of using this and the balm but alternating, do you think that will work?
