REVIEW: TONYMOLY LUMINOUS GODDESS AURA BB CREAM

FINALLY!
I am so excited for this. This is actually a super late review. I wanna say sorry it took a long time for me to post something about this. :(

Anyways, I wrote last time that our 'Big Boss' in Korea came and visited our company. He is such a really nice guy. Every time he comes to the Philippines, he brings something for his employees. This year, he gave us this: TonyMoly Luminous Goddess Aura BB Cream

I took this photo the day I got this from Mr. Kim! Yehey!
-I think I got this like 3 weeks ago. I was so busy with work that I almost forgot to make a review for this. Now here we go!!!!!

WARNING: AGAIN, I love taking photos (although I am not a photographer and I do not have a keen eye for perfection that most photography enthusiasts are looking for). This review contains a lot of images and it may take some time for the photos to load.

***************************************************

THE PRODUCT

- Name: TonyMoly Luminous Goddess Aura BB Cream (BB Cream from TonyMoly).
- I found out that this BB cream is designed to use with Luminous Goddess Aura Beam, which is used as a base (but do not fret! TonyMoly Luminous Goddess Aura BB Cream still works well without the base.)
- Price: PhP 748 (I got this from TonyMoly's Philippine website) (I am just lucky I got this for free)
- has SPF 47 PA++
- 40ml (according to: TonyMoly Global Website
- 45g (written on the packaging)

-This is what the product looks (when it's in the box).

I am so curious why is it Koreans enjoy giving LOOOOOOOONG names for their cosmetic products.

-Finally! The ingredients are written in English! Hurray!!

Yehey!! The ingredients are in English!!

- I did not have a hard time looking for the 'official' product description on the internet because there is already an ENGLISH description at the back part of the box.

- This is what the bottle / packaging looks like.

-The description at the back of the bottle is written in Korean.

 - Unlike Missha, this one comes with a nozzle and a cap. I am quite careful with this whenever I put this in my bag because the there is a tendency for the cream to spill out of the bottle.

THE APPLICATION
- Here we go to my favorite part!

- CONSISTENCY: It's not too thick or creamy--- it's a bit runny but not too much. Actually it's easy to spread (feels silky when you apply it on your skin). ^_^

- SCENT: I love the scent. It has a "baby bath soap" scent which is not too strong. Compared to other BB creams which has a normal cosmetic/foundation scent, I am loving the scent of this BB cream.

This photo was taken under direct light.

- Here are the photos I took when I applied it on my skin. I have noticed that this BB cream is lighter than my skin tone.

- When I saw the word 'LUMINOUS', I was expecting something 'shimmer-y' and 'glittery'. But honestly, I did NOT see anything 'luminous'. If you will notice it, please do not hesitate to comment ;)

(The pictures are arranged according to the time I took the photos)

- This BB Cream is easy to spread + the smell is soooo nice.

-Yeah, it really looks light for my skin.

(Something different for this review! I have decided to do it this way.)
- Check the difference.

- The difference is much obvious here in this picture.

 - Here are the BEFORE and AFTER Photos. I took this photos all by myself so I am sorry if the angle is not that perfect.

- The photo on left shows my face WITHOUT the BB CREAM. The photo on the right shows my face WITH the BB CREAM
 ;)

-I have pimple scars on the right side of my cheeks and they turn red when it's hot. TonyMoly Luminous Goddess Aura BB Cream did a good job in covering the redness.
LEFT (without BB Cream) / RIGHT (with TonyMoly Luminous Goddess Aura BB Cream)

- My pores are still obvious even though I applied the BB cream.
LEFT (without BB Cream) / RIGHT (with TonyMoly Luminous Goddess Aura BB Cream)

- I also have pimple scars on the left side of my face (but not as much compared to my right cheeks) and TonyMoly Luminous Goddess Aura BB Cream did a good job in covering the redness.
- I love that it did not make my skin look too-matte nor too-dewy. It looked moisturized.
LEFT (without BB Cream) / RIGHT (with TonyMoly Luminous Goddess Aura BB Cream)

WHEW! That was a lot! I'm sorry I had to post a lot of pictures ;) I just love BB Creams that I had to show you a lot!
- Here's what I can say about this:

1.  COVERAGE: Medium (does not cover all of the blemishes but it did minimize the redness of my pimple scars)
2. EASY to spread or apply on skin.
3. OIL CONTROL: GOOD! I just had to blot my face with oil paper once (I work from 1pm - 12am)

4. Good for ALL SKIN TYPES. My skin is too oily. My officemate (who got this BB cream too) has dry skin and it worked for her too!

5. I love the 'baby soap' - scent!

6. My skin had a 'healthy glow' look and was moisturized without the dewy look. It did not make my skin look oily (there's a difference with oily and moisturized). It did not look too matte.

7. Also, I thought it would not match my skin shade but after applying it on my skin, everything looked perfect!

CONS
1. The shade might be too light for others.
2. A pea-size amount of BB cream is usually enough to cover the my whole face but for this BB cream, I had to use more.

Will I buy this again?
YES!
Oh my! Another addition to my must-have BB creams!!

Now, I am using 4 BB creams to choose from. And I am having a problem deciding what would be my favorite!

  1. Hello, I just bought the same product and it is my first ever BB cream :) I found that when I put it on, even after a few hours if I rub on my face the BB cream comes off. I noticed it when I took a shirt off and the cream rubbed onto the collar and it left a dark brown streak! I have oily skin but sometimes it becomes dry too. I was wondering if this happens to other people too and if it can be prevented. Please help me.

  2. Hi! Oh..
Usually BB creams last for a long time (this brand lasts for around 6+hours). ACtually, I have trouble removing all the traces of BB cream at night.

Here are my (hypothetical) guesses why the BB cream easily comes off - based on my experience:
    1. It's possible that the BB cream did not settle or get absorbed by the skin. QUICK TIP: If you plan to use foundation / powder after putting on the BB cream, allow the bb cream to settle (a few minutes)

    2. I always experience this when I use public transportation. Once I get outside the house, the horror of sets in. When I start to wipe the sweat on my forehead, the bb cream comes off.

    3. Putting on moisturizer or primer before using the BB cream. - Ive tried this but the BB cream came off easily.

Maybe you can try a using setting powder after using the BB cream.. :)

  3. Thank you very much for the reply! :) I think that the cream doesn't set in on my skin and I don't use other products before or after. I think I'll try the setting powder to see if it will work :) Thank you for the answers. They were very helpful. <3

  5. Hi! I am so sorry for the late reply.

I really have a problem with describing my skintone.. But this one may help:
I use Revlon Color Stay Mineral Foundation in LIGHT MEDIUM (040). Here's a photo that can help:
    http://cocolita.pl/pl/p/Revlon-Colorstay-Podklad-Mineralny-Sypki-LightMedium-40/216

About how long it lasts, all of the BB creams that I've used lasted for around 8 hours. I just put a finishing powder to make it last longer.
And it also depends on the situation. Usually, the BB creams do not last long if I perspire.

Hope I was able to help you.
    Thanks!
    ^_^

    1. hi dear!
      thanks for reading my blog...
however, I haven't heard of a BB cream brand that says it's not suitable for 12years old and below. Also, I haven't heard of a BB cream that says it's only suitable for ladies 12 years old and above.. :( I really do not have a specific answer for your question.

But here's what I will do if I am in your situation.
Every make-up, skin care and facial care products that says:
      ANTI-AGING
      ANTI-WRINKLE
      are for grownups.

If it does not say anything about "making you look younger", I believe you can use it.
But make sure you ask help from your mom.
      Moms still know better ;)

      thanks thanks thanks.

  8. Hi! Could you recommend a good BB cream that is completely matte and doesn't incite breakouts? I'm going through a period of bad breakouts and I want to cover them up...
    Thank you!!!
